As part of Luba Freeport Limited’s (LFL) dedication to improving the community in which they operate, LFL has played an integral role in upskilling their local staff members.
One such area has been the development of local Crane Operators at their facility, and LFL management is proud to announce that three of their Equatorial Guinean staff have passed their Crane Operator Certification.
The certification falls within the framework of Bureau Veritas, an internationally recognized testing, certification, and inspection body. To achieve this certification, the three operators underwent an intensive training course with one of LFL’s Expat operators; and once completed, the LFL operators achieved the following:
- Tarcisio Roka Bohelo – Up to and including 50t Mobile cranes.
- Roman Eria Riloha – Up to 90t mobile cranes (employee of the year).
- Pedro Oyono Abaga – 50t to 90t mobile cranes.
Development and training programs such as these do not only help the local communities in which Lonrho companies operate, but it further exemplifies Lonrho’s dedication to “Investing in the Growth of Africa”; not just in business, but in her people as well!
